Code Wars 2013 – Prepare for Battle!

JetBrains is pleased to sponsor the prestigious student “Code Wars” competition, donating software license prizes to the 2013 Windward International Collegiate Programming Championship. College students from the winning team at each school will receive IntelliJ IDEA and ReSharper licenses.

What are Windward Code Wars?
Code Wars are a day-long programming game that stresses not only coding itself, but encompasses strategy, teamwork and problem-solving in the ultimate “green” online competition. Teams of top computer science college students from respected universities design an artificial intelligence (AI) to do battle with other AIs in close-quarters hand-to-hand combat in a quest to be #1. When does Code Wars take place?
2013 Code Wars will be held from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm local time on Saturday, January 26, 2013, and is open to all colleges and universities worldwide. Teams may include from 1 to 5 undergraduate and/or graduate students; however, members must be full-time students at the participating school.

Which universities take part in the competition?
Teams that participated in last year’s contest included Boston University, Carnegie Mellon University, Cornell University, Harvey Mudd College, Georgia Tech, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Purdue University, Stanford, University of Illinois, University of Massachusetts, University of Toronto and University of Wisconsin.
