Well, that was to be expected: a build of PyCharm released on Friday night without proper QA testing was bound to contain problems. And so it did. Thank you for your prompt reports!
Today’s build, PyCharm 117.86, fixes the major issues, along with a couple more bugs.

Just so you’re aware, in about 30 minutes of use, the new build has generated 36 assertion errors, more than I’d get in days upon days of use in the 2.1 EAP. I’ve given up submitting them as bugs.
Is it possible to have a look at PY-2087 ? I think I have figured it out and a patch is attached that works for me… Thanks!
