RubyMine 2.5 EAP (96.1085): Spellchecker in VCS commit messages

Hello guys,

The new academic year has just started, and we’ve prepared a nice handy feature for you. How often do you or your colleagues make typos in VCS commit messages? Often? Rarely? Sometimes? With new RubyMine 2.5 EAP it is almost impossible because we included spellchecker with auto-correction quick fix directly in the commit dialog!

Also we improved Bundler, RSpec 2.0 support and fixed lots of bugs. Full release notes are available hereGo and try New EAP and we are looking forward to hearing your feedback!

Develop with pleasure!

  1. How can I install a portuguese dictionary?

  2. Roman Chernyatchik says:

    Hello Rodrigo,
Please open “RubyMine | FIle | Settings | Spelling | Dictionaries” settings dialog. You need add a dictionary here (“Add” button). Dictionary is an ordinary text file with .dic extension. And file content is just a list of accepted words.

  3. Roman Chernyatchik says:

Rodrigo, if you create/find such Protuguese dictionary for our spellcheker we will be glad to add info about it to “RubyMine extensions and themes made by users” (http://devnet.jetbrains.net/docs/DOC-1154) page

Is there an ETA for the final release? Really been enjoying 2.0 and don’t want to jinx it by installing the EAP in the middle of some projects, but looking forward to the new features in 2.5.

  5. Roman Chernyatchik says:

    Hello Dan,
ETA is end of September – October.

  6. Oh thank you! This is very welcome!

  7. Dan Michaelson says:

    Thanks, looking forward!
