Grok Models Come to the AI Chat in JetBrains IDEs

We’re expanding our AI offering with xAI’s Grok family of LLMs: Grok 4, Grok 4.1 Fast, Grok 4.1 Fast (Non-Reasoning), and Grok Code Fast 1. With the addition of these models in the AI chat across all JetBrains IDEs, you now have even more flexibility to choose the model that best fits your workflow.

How to try Grok models inside JetBrains IDEs

Trying Grok inside the AI chat is easy! Ensure you have an active JetBrains AI subscription. If you don’t, start a free trial directly from your IDE: open the JetBrains AI widget, start the installation, and follow the on-screen steps.

From there, open the AI chat and choose a Grok model from the selector in the chat panel (you’ll find all available Grok LLMs under More Models). Then just start interacting with it in the chat – you can ask questions about your code, refactor a snippet, generate tests, fix errors, and more.
