Why Focus Matters in a Crowded DevOps Landscape
We’re proud to share that JetBrains was recognized in the 2026 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for DevOps Platforms for Ability to Execute and Completeness of Vision.
JetBrains solutions for DevOps include Qodana for code quality, TeamCity for CI/CD, and YouTrack for planning and project management.
The DevOps landscape is crowded, and a lot of vendors compete on breadth, going for the longest feature list and checking the most boxes. There are currently many companies racing to cover the entire pipeline, chase raw model power, or simply optimize for the fastest AI conversation. We believe the true bottleneck isn’t how fast you can generate code, but how effectively you can control it.
Our focus is intentionally trained on the environment developers touch every day, ensuring that, as cheap AI generation accelerates complexity, engineers retain the tools to easily review, verify, and take responsibility for their work. True developer productivity and enjoyment don’t come from turning over the keys to an agent; they come from having absolute confidence and command over your codebase. We believe this Gartner recognition reflects those core values and our commitment to making AI-assisted work fundamentally trustworthy.
The proof is in what we ship
Generative tools give teams incredible ability, but they also introduce immense responsibility. When code generation accelerates entropy and complexity grows unchecked, our deterministic code intelligence acts as the foundational immune system. Every improvement we ship is designed to ensure the human who merges the code retains a deep understanding and absolute accountability. We choose which capabilities to invest in by watching how teams actually work and removing the friction we saw was real.
Here are a few recent words from our customers:
“I’ve spent a lot of time working with various CI/CD tools, but this one is the “premium” choice for teams that want power without the “plugin hell”. Out-of–thebox intelligence: It doesn’t just run the task in order; it understands dependencies.” – Read the whole review.
“YouTrack is honestly a great tool that sort of does everything that you’re looking for in a tool like this. It’s easy to customize and works for a lot of project structures.” – Read the whole review.
How we prioritize, and where we go next
We don’t ship beta software to developers. We practice AI realism: We don’t chase trends or dismiss the seismic shift AI represents. Instead of rushing half-baked features to market, we observe how engineering practices are actually evolving, shipping capabilities only when they serve a concrete purpose.
Our current focus: an open ecosystem for the age of AI. We are investing heavily in new AI innovation and in an open architecture that lets developers use the top models and agents, without losing touch with the robust engineering features they already love and trust. AI is actively reshaping the entire software development lifecycle, and we believe the right response is not to lock developers into a single vendor’s stack but to put our users first with an open ecosystem they can shape to their own work.
We continue to invest in our own AI innovations, including JetBrains Central, Air, and Junie CLI. The goal is the same one that has guided us all along: bring the seamless experience and powerful capabilities teams expect from our tools into a landscape that AI is changing quickly, so developers get a better experience and ship higher-quality software.
We have a lot planned for the year ahead, so stay tuned.
