CLion 2020.3 Release Candidate
The public release of CLion 2020.3 is fast approaching. Today we are ready to announce our CLion 2020.3 Release Candidate!
To install CLion 2020.3 RC (build 203.5981.106), download it from the website, update from our Toolbox App, or use this snap package (for Ubuntu).
Please note that you need to have an active subscription or start a 30-day trial to use CLion 2020.3 RC. No patches are provided for this release candidate, but you can expect a patch to update the latest 2020.2 build to the 2020.3 release version.
The main highlights:
- Makefile projects that specify the compiler by surrounding it with single quotes (‘) can now be successfully loaded in CLion. The problem was specific to the MinGW toolchain and was breaking the nRF5 SDK examples (the software development kit for the nRF52 Series and nRF51 Series SoCs).
- Fix for the incorrect code highlighting caused by a crash in Clangd (CPP-22445).
- Interactive hints and inline watches were introduced just recently. RC build includes a few fixes for them (IDEA-255861, CPP-22955).
Check out the full release notes.
We are now putting the final touches on the build, so if you encounter any problems at all, please report them to our issue tracker. This way, we can sort out the pressing issues before the final release (though, depending on priority, the actual fixes might be postponed until the 2020.3.x bug-fix updates).
