CLion 2023.2 Release Candidate
CLion 2023.2 is on its way, while the release candidate for v2023.2 is already available!
To install CLion 2023.2 RC (build 232.8660.139), download it from the website, update via the Toolbox App, or use this snap package (for Ubuntu).
Please note, you need an active subscription or a trial license to use CLion 2023.2 RC.
Have you tried the AI Assistant feature in CLion 2023.2? You can ask AI Assistant to explain the selected code, suggest how to better refactor the selected code fragment, or find potential problems. It can also generate commit messages for you and explain CMake errors.
Please note that the version of AI Assistant previously included in the EAP builds has been unbundled in the CLion 2023.2 Release Candidate. Starting from this build, it is available as a separate plugin. This decision will help us focus on involving AI-powered functionality in the next IDE versions, ensuring more frequent updates. You can find more details in this blog post.
Other improvements in this build:
- We’ve added a missing pretty-printer for chrono types for GDB.
- Expressions with side effects are no longer evaluated when you hover over editor variables when evaluating them in debug mode.
- We’ve fixed the broken tree in the Attach to Process dialog (CPP-33861).
The full release notes are available here. Give this build a try, and help us to improve CLion by reporting any problems you find to our issue tracker. The final release is just around the corner, so stay tuned!
