End of Support for the Tapestry, JBoss Seam, and Vaadin plugins
We are continuing our efforts to focus our attention on the most popular technologies and integrations. However, since our capabilities are limited, this requires sunsetting some plugins that are no longer in high demand among the community. Given the low popularity of the Tapestry, JBoss Seam, and Vaadin 6–8 plugins, we have discontinued their development and stopped providing technical support for them as of the 2022.3 release. Each of these three plugins was unbundled from IntelliJ IDEA several years ago but has been available for downloading and installing from the plugin repository. We

Thanks to the plugin, developers will now be provided with security information about open source packages included directly or indirectly in their code, allowing them to

In this blog, we're going to explore how to work with Amazon Web Services (AWS) in IntelliJ IDEA. We'll start by setting up IntelliJ IDEA to connect to AWS. This provides an easy way for people to skim the content quickly if they prefer reading to watching, and to give the reader/watcher links to additional information. Setup To configure IntelliJ IDEA to work with AWS, we need to install the AWS Toolkit for IntelliJ IDEA plugin and configure th

New Live Stream: Make IntelliJ IDEA Your Own
Images are a great way to personalize anything. Recently, a gif showing a customized IntelliJ IDEA caught my attention (here's its screenshot). It included a custom inspection with an avatar based on one of my very dear friends, Chandra Guntur, posted by another dear friend, Sirisha Pratha: This was a perfect opportunity for me to invite Sirisha to talk about how she has been customizing IntelliJ IDEA over the years, the challenges she has faced, and much more. Register now and join us for the live stream of Make IntelliJ IDEA Your Own. In this live stream, Sirisha Pratha, Sr. Specialist Deve

We’ve brought a brand new feature to JetBrains Marketplace – Plugin Ideas! It’s a place for sharing ideas for plugins and functionality missing from IntelliJ-based IDEs. I am pleased to announce that the EAP of Big Data Tools plugin compatible with IntelliJ IDEA Ultimate 2020.2 is available from today. Our goal was to fix as many problems as possible and improve the plugin from the inside out. In addition to some under-the-hood changes, two visible improvements have been made: With just a couple of mouse clicks, you can enable SSH tunnels to forward ports for Hadoop and Spark connections. Filters and limits in the Applications tab of the Spark Monitoring tool window give you control over how much data is loaded from servers. SSH tunneling The servers we

Meet Grazie: the ultimate spelling, grammar, and style checker for IntelliJ IDEA
Development is not all about programming languages. A lot of text in your code is for humans, not the compiler: string literals, comments, Javadocs, commit messages, and much more requires at least some knowledge of English or other natural languages, depending on your team and users. So isn't it great when your IDE checks not only your code constructs, but also the spelling, grammar, and style of natural language text? Now we have a great tool to reduce your need for native-speaker editors, or at least reduce the number of mistakes that they need to clean up in your code. Grazie is a plugi
