Announcing PyCharm 2016.2.1

Today we bring you the PyCharm 2016.2.1 bug-fix update. It has been uploaded and is now available from the download page. It also will be available shortly as a patch update from within the IDE.

Some notable highlights of this update include:

  • several important fixes for Django support
  • Docker support fixes
  • code inspection fixes
  • and much more

    2 days passed and it is still not available through toolbox
    why did you released it?

      If you’re on 2016.2.0 the update should be available for you. Help | Update
      We provide only 2016.2->2016.2.1 patch upgrade.

        I’m on 2016.1.4, so I must download it from the site? Why do you guys take this approach, isn’t it possible to download updates from within the software? How many 2016.x will we get during a year? Having to go to the site and download a full installer just to update the software is pretty strange!

          Usually we provide just only one patch update from the latest bug-update version. So when we release 2016.2.2 the only available patch update is from v2016.2.1. We plan to release 3 major updates per year i.e. [year].release number.
          I understand this is not convenient. We’re looking for the ways to improve it providing more patches for different versions, including patches between major versions.
