Junie

We want local coding agents to be smart and fast, with the ability to understand a codebase, do useful work, and finish tasks without long waits. This Junie Local update makes it practical to use a more capable model on your own machine. In the first release, we had to choose between two versions of…

Google's newest coding model, Gemini 3.8 Flash, is tuned for long jobs and comes with an incredible launch discount. Google shipped three Flash releases in six weeks, and the newest one is built for exactly the kind of work Junie does all day: multi-step engineering tasks that take real explorati…

Beyond the resolve rate Imagine plugging two LLMs from different frontier labs into the same coding agent and finding that they solve exactly the same number of benchmark tasks. If the evaluation stopped there, you might conclude that the models are interchangeable and simply choose the cheaper o…

A while ago, we launched a long-term project to enable users to run Junie entirely locally, with local inference, across a wide variety of hardware setups. After much anticipation, we recently released an initial version of Junie Local that works on a MacBook M5 with Qwen3.6-27B. In this blog pos…

Junie Local runs the full AI coding agent on your M5 Mac. One command, no configuration, no tokens. Your code never leaves your machine. Completely Free.

Junie CLI, the LLM-agnostic coding agent, is now in Beta. With the upcoming release of Junie CLI, you will be able to use Junie directly from the terminal, inside any IDE, in CI/CD, and on GitHub or GitLab.

As we approach the midpoint of the decade, game developers face an evolving landscape shaped by shifting job security, technology choices, platform strategies, and practical AI adoption. Our State of Game Development 2025 report reveals critical insights that provide a clearer picture of where the industry is heading.

Junie is now integrated into the AI chat. The separate interfaces have merged into a single, unified space (available in Beta).
