JetBrains wins IT Table Tennis Cup 2013 in St. Petersburg, Russia, for 2nd year in a row!
You can probably tell that we at JetBrains love table tennis. Many of us enjoy taking a break and hitting a few balls over the net in the special room we have in the office.
IT Table Tennis Cup became the successor of the traditional JUG.ru TT Cup, which ran in the professional IT community of St. Petersburg from 2007 to 2010. After a two year break, the tradition was revived in 2012 by Game|Changers, an innovative program for ad-hoc education and IT business research, also based in St. Petersburg. A total of ten local IT companies contested the Cup this year.
We’re happy to congratulate our team that just won the gold medal in this tournament. A total of ten IT companies contested the cup with JetBrains coming in first place two years in a row. This year EMC² came in a close second and i-Free took home third place. JetBrains was represented by Nikita Raba (ReSharper team), Ekaterina Shevchenko (Chief accountant), Alexey Kudryavtsev (IntelliJ IDEA team) and Ilya Yatsishin (MPS team) — from left to right on the team photo:
Whether by chance or by design, the IT Table Tennis Cup coincided with the Liebherr 2013 World Table Tennis Championships, dominated by the Chinese superstars Zhang Jike, Wang Hao, Ma Long and Xu Xin.
Way to go, team JetBrains!
Compete with pleasure!
