Roadmap

Posted on by Vaclav Pech

Here’s the news:
Listening to your requests we wrote down a plan for future MPS releases. It took us a while to clarify and prioritize the major important tasks ahead and I think the outcome is pretty promising.
Why not check it out right away at
http://confluence.jetbrains.net/display/MPS/MPS+public+roadmap

We’re going to stick to the roadmap for our further development. The map is not set in stone, however, so feel free to comment, discuss and vote for issues in the tracker to help us steer the projects towards your needs.

Develop with pleasure!

    Hi,

Great to see that MPS is evolving, keep up the good work !

Given that, it’s been a while since I played with MPS, not everything was clear to me while reading the roadmap. So let me put my question in simple terms: when will be able MPS to generate Python code ?
I’m a Python developer and I would be interested in making DSL’s which are translated in Python instead of Java.

    Thanks.

According to the current roadmap, it’s version 5.0 (Language repository) unless somebody starts this activity before. Are you interested in it?

Actually yes, though I have only limited time right now . But maybe in the future …
Anyway, if you could give me some guidelines ( or maybe you already have prepared some documentation ) in this direction , I could evaluate the amount of work to achieve extending the Language repository with Python … Thanks
