PyCharm 1.2 EAP — Django 1.3 support, initial i18n and fixes

Posted on by Eugene Toporov

You may have heard that Django 1.3 is coming soon. And we plan to be prepared, providing a timely PyCharm update that would work well with the new Django framework. It will be PyCharm 1.2.

Today you are welcome to download and try an early build of PyCharm 1.2. The major changes are:

  • Introduced support for Django 1.3.
  • Initial i18n support. PyCharm now understands the .po files syntax and highlights it nicely.
  • A number of other fixes and improvements.

Download the new EAP build and let us know what you think.

And a couple of screenshots depicting the mentioned new features of PyCharm 1.2:

Constant improvement and rich features is what I like most of PyCharm, refactoring tools for converting function views to new class based ones are a very welcomed addition!

We are eager to give a go to this EAP cycle, I’m sure PyCharm 1.2 will be awesome, keep it going!

It’s great, but in Pycharm 1.1.1 I experience a lot of stability and perfomance issues under my linux box with Oracle JVM.
