RubyMine 2017.2 EAP 3: Change Commit Messages

Posted on by Artem Sarkisov

Hey all,

RubyMine 2017.2. EAP 3 (build 172.2656.16) is now available. What highlights this build is a small but quite convenient opportunity to change messages of your local commits. Here’s what it looks like:

change_commit_message_rubymine

Right-click any local commit, choose Reword and change your commit message. Easy as that. Also, both F2 and Shift+F6 work as shortcuts for Reword Commit.

Other improvements:

  • Excluded duplicates from Find in Path search results
  • Ability to control blank lines for JavaScript and TypeScript code formatter
  • Ability to compare items with different deployed versions
  • Bug-fixes

Download this EAP.

See the release notes for the full list of improvements, and use our tracker to submit any issues you encounter.

Cheers!

Your RubyMine Team

i’m confused: rubymine notified me about this release despite my settings being ‘notify on stable updates’ and this is an RC/EAP release. was it me or you?

anyway, looks like more great stuff coming. thanks for all your efforts.

      Hi Tom,

Sorry for the inconvenience, and thank you for the report. We’ll check our patch settings, the problem should be there.

Please skip this version for now.
