WebStorm 9.0.2 Bug Fix Update Available

WebStorm 9.0.2 (build 139.773) is now available for download!

While the update is mostly focused on the bug fixes (you can look through the list of addressed issues in the release notes for builds 139.773 and 139.625), there are also a couple of “visible” changes: a new Welcome screen and an updated icon:

Together with the release, we are also glad to present a completely reworked layout of our online documentation.

Other noticeable updates include:
– npm install and npm update actions for package.json files;
– multiple improvements in Dart support (enums support and Stagehand project templates);
– new Enable Meteor hot code push configuration option for running Meteor apps (available in Preferences | Languages & Frameworks | JavaScript | Meteor, now allows WebStorm start Meteor apps with “hot push” on changes);
– basic TypeScript 1.3 support and more.

You’ll get an automatic notification about this update in the IDE.
You can install a patch-update, if you’re using WebStorm 9.0.1 or WebStorm 9.0.2 EAP. Otherwise, you can download WebStorm 9.0.2 from the website and install it.

Develop with pleasure!

    Why did you remove “JavaScript files (syntax highlights only)” File Type from settings? It was very useful for unsupported JS like templates like old version of BEMHTML from Yandex :_(

    • Ekaterina Prigara says:

      Was that in the list in Preferences | File types? Are you sure it wasn’t some kind of plugin that added that functionality?

      • Vladimir Varankin says:

        Yes, it was in Preferences / File types and I’m 100% sure it was bundled with WebStorm. At least it is there in 9.0 Build 139.164, so here is a screenshot – luckily I have an old dmg in my Downloads :)

        • Ekaterina Prigara says:

          Found out that we’ve decided to merge it with the main JavaScript file type. As a workaround you can go to ~/Library/Preferences/WebStorm9/filetypes and add this file there – it’s a custom file type that describes syntax highlighting for JavaScript. You can then edit and rename it in Preferences | Editor | File types.

    Built-in terminal not works if intellij-colors-solarized selected in WebStorm 9.0.2.

    Looks like you also added Jade as a file type (at least jade icon on files is changed). Cool. Thanks!
