WebStorm 2024.1.4 Is Now Available

WebStorm 2024.1.4, the fourth update for WebStorm 2024.1, is now available! It contains an important security update and some notable fixes.

You can update to v2024.1.4 by using the Toolbox App, installing it right from the IDE, or downloading it from our website

Important security update

We’ve recently discovered a new vulnerability that affects all JetBrains IDEs (as of versions 2023.1 onwards) using the JetBrains GitHub plugin.

We urge you to read the security blog post describing the reasons behind this security update and then promptly upgrade to the newest release.

Other notable improvements

Here are some of the other notable improvements in v2024.1.4:

  • When the diff view is opened in an editor tab, it no longer expands uncontrollably when using a split view (IJPL-99522).
  • PlantUML diagrams in Markdown files are correctly rendered again (IJPL-90975).
  • Search results for Find in project files are once again updated accurately after the source code is edited (IJPL-45184).
  • The IDE now correctly handles the ANSI escape code in the Terminal tool window, displaying text with reversed highlighting (IJPL-101490).
  • Clicking on files in the Commit tool window no longer erroneously moves them from inactive to the default changelist (IJPL-73077).
  • The Services tool window now correctly provides output for all run configurations again (IJPL-73636).

That’s all for today! For the full list of issues addressed in WebStorm 2024.1.4, please see the release notes.
