LiveStream Summary: FXGL – Cross-platform JavaFX Game Engine for Java and Kotlin
We have all played games – on our desktops, laptops, tablets, or mobile phones. Do we enjoy them? Yes, we do. Games are addictive and command our attention. This is one of the reasons why even your web browser shows a game when you lose internet connection. A lot of you might have discovered it when you hit the Space key in despair.
Have you thought about creating a game of your own but weren’t sure how to go about it? If you are a Java or a Kotlin developer, this session can help you get started.
On July 21, 2021, we hosted the live stream ‘FXGL – Cross-platform JavaFX Game Engine for Java and Kotlin’ by Almas Baimagambetov, creator of FXGL and Senior Lecturer in Game Development at the University of Brighton.
In this live stream, Almas introduces cutting-edge FXGL features and provides links to external resources for getting started with the engine. Since FXGL seamlessly extends JavaFX, Almas shares how developers can leverage JavaFX’s hardware acceleration support on a range of platforms, including desktop, mobile, and embedded, allowing the development of high-performance cross-platform applications.
