Discontinuation of the SpaceCode Private Preview

Dear customers,

Today we are announcing the discontinuation of the SpaceCode Private Preview, which we launched in May 2024. 

On May 27, 2024, we announced that we had decided to discontinue Space and pivot it to a new product: SpaceCode. The plan was for SpaceCode to focus primarily on Git hosting and code reviews. For the last six months, we’ve been collecting feedback from SpaceCode users and polishing the product to make the user experience more enjoyable. In light of user feedback and current market trends, we’ve decided not to make SpaceCode generally available.

How this affects you as a Space and SpaceCode customer

• Cloud customers (with Free, Monthly, and Yearly subscriptions) can use SpaceCode together with Space for free until May 31, 2025. Starting on June 1, 2025, access to SpaceCode and Space Cloud organizations will be disabled. Check our migration guide to learn more about how to migrate all your data to alternative software. 

• On-premises customers will be able to use Space and SpaceCode for an indefinite period of time and extended user numbers. Please check the updated Space Terms of Service here for more information on this change.
  • If you want to use Space On-Premises for an infinite period of time, you must update your license key before May 31, 2025. Please follow the instructions described in our FAQ.
  • If you want to continue using SpaceCode On-Premises, be sure to update Space to version 2024.2 or later.
