What is Kotlin?
Project Kotlin LogoProject Kotlin is the codename of a statically-typed language that targets the JVM and JavaScript, developed by JetBrains. The main goal behind the project is to create a general-purpose language that would be a good tool for developers, meaning safe, concise, flexible and 100% Java-compatible. Both the compiler and the IntelliJ IDEA plugin are open source under the Apache 2 license.
