Workspace Import From ZIP, Python Update, Collapsible Sections in Notebooks, and More in Datalore 2025.3

The 2025.3 release of Datalore delivers multiple long-awaited features, including a new way to import workspaces, default values for text fields, and tools for organizing assets like collapsible sections and report folders. Read on to learn more.

These updates are already available for Datalore Cloud users, and Datalore On-Premises users can get them by updating their Datalore instance.

Python 3.11 in baseline Python images

The default Python interpreter now uses Python 3.11, bringing improvements in performance, security, and library compatibility.

Collapsible sections in notebooks

The new release makes it easier to navigate and review longer notebooks by allowing you to fold consecutive cells located under the same Markdown heading. For example, if you want to make the results and narrative more visible, you can fold code cells. You can also run all cells within a folded section without having to expand it. Learn more.

Preserved context in cloned notebooks

Cloning shared notebooks is now more convenient, as cloned notebooks will retain their original context. If you have editing access to the workspace where the original notebook lives, you won’t need to manually add environment variables, repositories, and data connections. This means less time spent configuring the setup and more time actually working with data.

Report folders

You can now organize your reports in folders, making your insights and findings easier to maintain, collaborate on, and revisit later. You can keep drafts separate from polished reports, group reports by project, or use any other method that works for you and your team. Learn more.

Workspace import from ZIP

If you have a workspace in a ZIP archive, you can now import it in Datalore and add all notebooks and files at once instead of importing them manually one by one. If your workspace has been exported from Datalore, your original file structure will be recreated. Learn more.
