Opening EAP for IntelliJ IDEA 8.0
We’re glad to announce the availability of IntelliJ IDEA 8.0 first EAP.
Some of the IntelliJ IDEA 8.0 features are now available for the first preview:
- Flex debugger
- Improved Flex code editor, with new inspections
- JavaScript debugger
- JBoss seam support, with coding assistance and dedicated visual tools
- Support for various SQL dialects, with coding assistance and injection
- Numerous other enhancements and new features

A “Pair Programming Mode” allowing two developers visually share a single IntelliJ editing session remotely over a network. Build in support for voice-chat using XMPP/talk.google.com.
I know that this can be accomplished using other tools (VNC, Nomachine/NX, or GotoMyPC) but none of those implementations are specifically suited for the software developer. As more and more software is being developed by ‘virtual’ companies with employees spread out all over the country/planet, this is becoming a critical need for many development shops.
