December 23, 2010Is there a way to manually download and install just the patch? Using the Help/Check for Updates menu item detects, downloads and attempts to install the patch, but the About dialog doesn’t show the new version number (or build date) and it then reminds me there is a new 10.0.1 patch to install. I’m experiencing this on a Win 7 x64 system.

December 24, 2010Guys.
Don’t ever release a patch just before you close support for a holiday.
10.0.1 broke my IDEA on Vista, it won’t even start.
Trying to track down the problem.

December 24, 2010One thing I really miss is a Intellij deb repository for Ubuntu.
Without it I need to download interllij manually. But if we had debian repository all I (and other users) need is “apt-get update”.
Is any chance to see an official repository any time soon?

Try starting IDEA as administrator and then doing the patch. This time it should restart and ask to apply the patch. It seems that IDEA has an issue with raising it’s own privileges on Win 7.
