IntelliJ IDEA 2018.2 Beta 2 is available!

As we race towards the finish line, IntelliJ IDEA 2018.2 is being made more and more stable. It’s the perfect time to try out IntelliJ IDEA 2018.2 Beta 2.

This last week we were mostly working on improvements for the recently added features. You can take a look at the latest changes in our release notes.

Starting with this build IntelliJ IDEA will, by default, add spaces before colons in a for-each loop. Don’t forget that you can always configure your code style preferences in the Preferences/Settings | Editor | Code style | Java. The Spaces before colon in foreach option can be configured in the Other node at the Spaces tab.

Other improvements

  • Multiple bug-fixes and usability improvements in MacBook Touch Bar support: Dropdown values are now selectable, the search-buttons panel is now hidden when the editor-search loses focus and more.
  • The Collapse/expand all icons have been added to the Messages Tool Window header.

Download IntelliJ IDEA 2018.2 Beta 2 from our website, or make an update via the Toolbox App.

This week your feedback is welcome more than ever using: discussion forum, issue tracker, Twitter or here in the comments!
