Getting close to MPS 3.1 – the EAP has started
The short story is that you can now put your hands on MPS 3.1. The Early Access Program has just been started. If you visit the EAP download page and grab MPS 3.1, you’ll be able to enjoy the new functionality before it gets polished and released.
As for the new features, there’re a few most noteworthy additions that you should pay attention to:
- Diagramming – languages can now define diagramming editors, wherever it makes sense. This expands the domain of MPS applicability into areas where graphical notations provide more value than text.
- The generator performance has been improved significantly, which is something you’ll definitely notice, especially on larger projects. The generator now also offers significantly more options for configuration and tuning.
- Numerous bug fixes in many areas improve the stability of MPS and usability of the built-in languages.
- The documentation is also being gradually updated to MPS 3.1. Check it out
Expect more detailed information on the new functionality from us on this blog in the weeks to come.
Since the final 3.1 release should happen in about a month from now, please give MPS 3.1 a good try and report any issues that you discover. This will help us all to get a stable and reliable final MPS 3.1 release.
Develop with pleasure!
