Several hours have passed and there still is no patch update. At least my 7.1.1 tells that it’s most up to date and there is nothing to download.

Ignore my previous comment. Path update finally arrived.

Thanks! Sorry for delay – some technical issues.

still showing 768 as latest 😛

768 is EAP, so update is from the previous stable version (133.679 – 7.1.1).

Is it possible to fix this bug because it is very annoying: http://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/WI-21681 ?

Has anyone else found the recent 7.1.1 and 7.1.2 to have a lot of latency when typing in the editor? I’m finding it very slow even with inspections and external tools turned off. Even typing within a text string (e.g. $var = ‘some stuff’) results in pauses as characters are typed into the string. I tried a fresh install and it seemed to have roughly the same problem. Is it just me, should I be looking at something in my setup?

      Maybe related to http://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-115135

Although sadly no one else voted there and posted CPU snapshots I know from the blog here that there are other peoples as well with the problem.

I’m having the same issue. Using the trial of the latest version. It’s practically unusable because of this slowdown. I’ll take a screencast.

    Thanks!

    (Sadly, autoupdate from 7.1 to 7.1.2 doesn’t work. Only 7.1.1 -> 7.1.2.)

Then it’s not just me….good. I thought I was missing something.

So how can I update from 7.1 to 7.1.2?
I can’t find nowhere download for 7.1 and running ./phpstorm.sh on 7.1.2 doesn’t give me any expected output.

      Thanks

        February 9, 2014

You just need to get the latest PhpStorm 7.1.2 at http://www.jetbrains.com/phpstorm/download/index.html

        Thank you!

          Hi Mikhail,

I’ve already done it but running ./phpstorm.sh doesn’t give me any output.
Should I firstly remove the one already installed?

          • gambry says:

            February 10, 2014

Ok forget me. It’s the first time, I thought it was including an updated… no it’s the full IDE and I was executing it with the old version already running.

            Thanks!!!

    • Mikhail Vink says:

      February 9, 2014

Yes, as stated in the blog post, there was a patch available from 7.1.1 to 7.1.2, but not between 7.1 and 7.1.2. Sorry for inconvenience.

what’s the trick to get “patch update” working on OSX? I’ve never been given the option

    • Mikhail Vink says:

      February 9, 2014

It’s usually available in 1-2 hours after the announcement, on Mac OS X it’s PhpStorm | Check for updates.

      • Eugene Lazarchik says:

        February 24, 2014

When I go to PhpStorm | Check for updates, I see three buttons: Remind Me Later, Ignore This Update and Release Notes / Download. The last one just takes me to this page. Am I missing something?

Sadly, 7.1.2 has a fatal error on startup…..ugh

  9. Ben Hitchcock says:

I’ve had to revert back to 7.0.1 due to this bug.

It’s a show stopper for me, if I have to commit my changes in a separate git window then it just slows me down too much.

Since upgrading to 7, I’m getting regular freezes – phpstorm just stops responding completely for 5-10 seconds. This happens a couple of times a day.

    • Mikhail Vink says:

      February 17, 2014

That’s very unexpected behaviour, could you please report us memory & cpu snapshots following this tutorial https://intellij-support.jetbrains.com/entries/29983118-Reporting-performance-problems

      Thank you!

Hi, I’m also getting this annoying freezes, did you find a solution? If yes, can you post it, please? Thanks an advance.

PS:// The only solution for me at this time restarting my laptop.

Filewatcher (SCSS) doesn’t work anymore. Thanks! ~.~

    • Thomas says:

      February 11, 2014

Ok got it. Default Settings doesn’t work. “Trigger watcher regardless of syntax errors” helps?!

I missed the 7.1.1. patch, now I cannot patch and need to download install the whole program? Is there no way to patch after missing one?

    • Mikhail Vink says:

      February 17, 2014

There is only patch between 7.1.1 and 7.1.2, so you would better download 7.1.2 right now.

      • Elia says:

        February 19, 2014

If i download the full program i lost my key?

        • Mikhail Vink says:

          February 20, 2014

No, key will be still there if you don’t remove your config folder.
