RubyMine 2.0.2 RC2 is available

The RC process for RubyMine 2.0.2 is taking longer than we had expected – but the team is not sitting still! The new Release Candidate build of RubyMine includes several major improvements:

  • Support for RVM gemsets;
  • Support for bundler 0.9;
  • Bundled pre-compiled ruby-debug gem for Windows users of Ruby 1.8;
  • New evaluation license scheme (a 30-day evaluation license is now built-in and you no longer need to fill a form on the Web site to get an evaluation license key).

In addition to that, there’s the usual bunch of small bugfixes, which are detailed in the release notes.

You can download RubyMine 2.0.2 RC2 from the EAP page. And if you run into any problems, please report them in the forums and the issue tracker, so that we would be able to fix them before the final 2.0.2 release.

  1. Yay! for any support for RVM. Autodetecting RVMs would be nice too, at least at start.

    Thanks also for spending some time in improving the Windows experience, I don’t use Windows, but it’s appreciated when I try to sell RoR to Windows users.

    I’m still on my evaluation period, but it seems RubyMine is going to be my IDE of choice for Ruby. Great work there guys!

    what needs to be done to get bundler to work? it worked fine with rubymine 2.0.1 but i can no longer run any tests in 2.0.2 due to bundler not being loaded.
