Welcome RubyMine 4.5 Beta!

Hello everyone,

Summer is coming to its mid and the RubyMine release is on the threshold now. We’re glad to let you know that RubyMine 4.5 Beta is available for download. We’re very close to the moment of features freeze, but we still have some cute new ones for you.

First of all there are new refactorings for Sass language, such as ‘Rename’ and ‘Extract Variable’:

Refactorings available for JavaScript language can now be used in your CoffeeScript code as well:

There are also Rails and RSpec code insight improvements in this build. Please visit release notes page for more details and screenshots and download RubyMine 4.5 Beta to try it.

And for a dessert at the end of the post I want to show you a very useful small feature. Now you can check your regular expressions:

Develop with pleasure!

  1. Great update! It would be awesome if you could add debugging support for 37Signals Pow.ch rack server? (I.e. have it as one of the server options when setting up the debugger).

Hopefully it wouldn’t be to hard and an added benefit is that Pow can run off port 80 without any major hurdles.
