The Getting Started With TeamCity Video Series
Have you ever had a member of your team who was new to TeamCity and you needed to get them up to speed quickly?
Today we’re introducing a new “Getting Started” video series focused on the basics of setting up and configuring your first build with TeamCity! This series is useful for anyone new to TeamCity and for those looking to evaluate TeamCity for the first time.
In this video series, you will learn how to quickly set up a local instance of TeamCity and create and customize your first build configuration for the popular Spring PetClinic project. We’ll also demonstrate TeamCity usage in a typical SDLC workflow.
The first 5 videos are already available, and more are on the way. If you have topics you’d like to see explored in more depth, please leave a comment below!
In Episode 1, we go over the general overview of the TeamCity architecture and licensing options.
Episode 2 focuses on how to download, install, and configure a TeamCity server.
In Episode 3, we talk about projects and build configurations in TeamCity and go over creating the first build configuration, adding a build step, running the first build, and reviewing the results.
Episode 4 continues the discussion on build configuration setup and dives deeper into the various settings available, such as setting up version control and specifying branches, choosing build triggers, defining failure conditions, and getting familiar with some of the build features.
In Episode 5, we demonstrate how TeamCity can be used in a classic developer setup: configuring a build to run when changes are made in version control, executing personal builds, reviewing the build results in an IDE, and working with tests and investigations.
