WebStorm 2018.2.5 is now available

WebStorm 2018.2.5 is now available! Update to it using Toolbox App or from the IDE. You can also download WebStorm 2018.2.5 from our website.

This update fixes a performance problem with the TypeScript projects caused by the links to the files outside the project (WEB-34669).

From the IntelliJ platform, there are fixes related to logging into the GitHub account (IDEA-198120), the Find in path dialog (IDEA-198588;  the problem still persists on Windows 7, we are currently working on it; as a workaround on Linux with Gnome, we have enabled the old layout for this dialog, the usual UI will be back in WebStorm 2018.3) and the input of the accented characters in popups.

Please also see the Release notes for this update.

It seems that the “Find in Path” window also changed its layout on this version. As user apahne wrote (https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-198588) “The UI has changed (2018.2.5, Ubuntu Gnome), the dialog is now tabbed. There are separate tabs for “Options” and “Preview” It was much more usable when it was not tabbed.”

I agree with that, it was better before. At least you didn’t remove the Preview pane, that is incredibly useful to edit multiple files without opening them.

      Hello Rodrigo,
Can you please attach a screenshot showing what exactly you mean? We don’t know about any UI changes that were made in this dialog in 2018.2.5. Does your dialog look like this: https://blog.jetbrains.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/webstorm-image.png ?

        Hello Ekaterina,

I can confirm that the UI also changed for me. Instead of looking like the screenshot (sort of floating window), it looks like this:

          Hi all,
We’ve just found out that the old Find in path dialog was enabled on Linux/Gnome as a temporary workaround for the Gnome crash: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-200704#focus=streamItem-27-3107355-0-0
It will be back to normal in WebStorm 2018.3.
Sorry for not communicating the change.

There’s a weird bug in the new Webstorm. When I use Shift+Shift to bring up the search box, I can’t seem to open files by pressing Enter on them. I have to click on the file to open it.

Hello! We’re sorry, it’s a known bug (https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-200654) that was already fixed in the next update.
Please, try the latest WebStorm 2018.2.6 EAP (182.5107.7) (https://confluence.jetbrains.com/display/WI/WebStorm+EAP).

The thread you pointed me to seems to be discussing a problem with IntelliJ IDEA rather than WebStorm.

Yes, it’s correct because both IntelliJ IDEA and WebStorm are built on the same platform.
