DataGrip 2017.2.2

Posted on by Maksim Sobolevskiy

This is a new minor update for DataGrip 2017.2.

There are many important fixes in this build:

— Export options are enabled again, but some issues persist, so we don’t close this issue.
— Custom dialect data sources are visible in the Run against list.
— Many people complained about UI freezing, we investigated this and fixed bugs raising the problem.
— Editing data in DB2 is back.
— Stored procedures code is generated correctly in SQL Server.

See all fixes in 2017.2.2.

Nice job on fixing the DB sync performance for Postgres. Before this update it was taking around 30 minutes to sync a single database. Now it is down to a minute and a half.

Why not support more databases that are already available with JDBC support, like Firebird? It’s great that you support the big commercial and open source databases, but there’s a long tail out there and the thing that kills me is using all these separate database tools. Why not have One DB Tool To Rule them All?

You still can use Firebird from DataGrip!
There is no direct support for specific cases, and we’re considering supporting other dbs. Anyway, your vote won’t be an excess https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/DBE-3650
