IntelliJ IDEA 10.5.1 EAP build 107.148

Maxim Mossienko

In this build we’ve fixed many annoying issues reported by our users with IntelliJ IDEA 10.5, see the list of changes in the release notes and download the new build from the IntelliJ IDEA EAP page. Do you know anything we’ve missed?

May 26, 2011 is a bit of a blocker, still using 10.0 for my Rails apps

Also, would be a big help for me.

I’m very impressed with the amount of work you guys get done every release, and the Ruby plugin/Rubymine are still the best on the market for Ruby development. But I do get the impression that the Ruby system is somewhat less of a priority than it used to be for JetBrains.

Long standing bug: When you split vertically Jump to Source will not necessarily go the source file that has focus.

This is more of a feature request then a defect report: Our git branch names tend to be lengthy. The small area in the bottom/right status bar that displays the current Git branch is fixed in width and too narrow for us to see the full branch name typically.

I would suggest making that area dynamically widen itself to accomodate the branch name or support a tooltip popup that displays the full name.

I’m guessing there is a forum/tracking tool where I can submit such requests more officially?

Thanks for the bug fix, primarily the IDE hanging when loading modules. This has happened a number of times and the local version history became corrupt. Another possible bug is that when the IDE tries to download jars in a Maven project and the computer is behind a Microsoft Proxy Server, that the jars are downloaded as 1KB files with the HTML result that the resource could not be found / authentication required.

In general, thanks for an awesome IDE!!!

After changing at least one message string in file, Idea notifies that all strings were changed. The encoding of the file is UTF-8. The Show Diff dialog says that strings contained Unicode’s hex values previously.

On the left side of the Show Diff dialog:

    On the right side:

The same differences for all other strings.

I posted about a possible issue with the “Ignore files and folders” setting at

I didn’t see anything about this in the release notes. I can create an issue if necessary.

Introduce variable in groovy + grails not working. Variable will be changed but just a blank line is added the codeline above.

I think one small but annoying issue is missing: On closing dialogs using ESC, it happens since 10.5 that the wrong open project unminizes/comes to front.
