IntelliJ IDEA 14.1.5 Update is Out

While we’re busy working on the new and shiny IntelliJ IDEA 15 (expected this fall), we actually don’t stop improving the existing IntelliJ IDEA 14.1 version. Today we’re happy to let you know about the availability of its new update. Enjoy an even more stable version of your favorite Java IDE.

If you’re running IntelliJ IDEA 14.1, install the patch by clicking Check for Updates. Otherwise, you’re welcome to download the newest version from the official site.

  1. Nicolas C says:

Nice ! Especially fixes on js parsing.
Somehow 14.1.4 tells me I’m up to date :( Maybe a bit early?

  2. Antosha says:

    Can’t update yet

    Or Im too fast?)

    • Andrey Cheptsov says:

Yes, the blog post was published several minutes earlier than the actual patch.

      • Anders says:

Doesn’t it in a way feel good, that posting the blog post before the patch (just minutes inbetween), makes IDEA users:

        – Hurry to open or switch to IDEA.
        – Check for updates
        – Try again
        – Get back to the blog.
        – Write a comment about the patch missing for them.
        – Check again before posting it, and then post?

        We like your software, apparently.

  3. Slavik says:

    Great work!
Thank you for the best open-source Java IDE.

  4. Why do I have to download new updates from website instead of application gets updates directly in background by itself?

    • Andrey Cheptsov says:

Are you sure you were running a IntelliJ IDEA 14.1.x build?

      • xxx says:

That happened to me as well. Had to download the whole 300 MB installation instead of just applying the patch.

I was running on either 14.1.4 or 14.1.5 EAP, not sure.

      • Christian Sinding Nellemann says:

Happens to me, too. Though I know I can just export all my settings, this still feels archaic. Anything I can try to avoid this issue?

  5. Morten Knudsen says:

It seems that IntelliJ is now unable to sort JDK 7 system classes? Every JDK class gives a red indication in the editor window.

  6. Paweł says:

Anybody experience issue with not working „Run” action after update?

  7. Morten Knudsen says:

Hmm, a cache invalidation and a restart seems to make it work. Sorry.

  8. Mr Bigglesworth says:

This appears to break the lombok plugin: if you rely on lombok, best to stay on 14.1.4 until the plugin is updated.

    • Andrew says:

Thanks for the info. I’ll stay on 14.1.4 for now, can’t afford testing and seeing if it works or not and downgrading intellij if necessary atm.

  9. Dmitriusan says:

Seems to hang consistently for me. Probably due to Python plugin

  10. Ben says:

This seems to have broken remote Python SDKs for me.

  11. xxx says:

whoaɦ this weblog is excellent і love reading your posts.
Keep up the great work! Ƴou understand, a lot of persons are looking гound for this info,
    you сould aid them ɡreatly.

  12. Dmitry says:

Distraction Free Mode still does not work as expected.
    1. Exit from the mode often takes too much time.
    2. Wrong tab is restored on exit.

  13. Peter says:

If you are working with flash avoid this update! It produces a massive amount of errors in my projects but I can still build them..
