IntelliJ IDEA 2020.3 Goes Beta!

Today we hit a big milestone – the Beta version of IntelliJ IDEA 2020.3 is available! This means all the new features are out and we are now working on fixing bugs and getting IntelliJ IDEA ready for the major release in December. You can get the Beta build from our website or via the Toolbox app.

While we’re busy putting on the finishing touches, you can download the Beta and try out the new features:

  • Git staging support.
  • Code With Me – a built-in service for collaborative development.
  • Interactive hints for variables during debugging and inline watches.
  • Reworked Endpoints and Profiler tool windows.
  • Improved Run/Debug Configurations.
  • Machine-learning Java code completion.
  • Conversion and decompilation of Java Records.
  • Code insight, completion, and refactorings for Java Sealed Classes.
  • New features to work with URLs, Spring, Swagger, Micronaut, Quarkus, and Kuberntetes.

To learn more about each of these and other improvements, check out the posts tagged as IntelliJ IDEA 2020.3 on this blog.

You can always check out the fixed issues in our release notes and raise a ticket in our issue tracker if you feel there is still room for improvement in v2020.3.

Stay tuned and share your thoughts!

Happy developing!
