IntelliJ IDEA 2024.1.1 Is Out!

Our first update for IntelliJ IDEA 2024.1 is now available for download! You can get this latest version from our website, via the Toolbox App, or by using snaps for Ubuntu.

This minor release goes beyond bug fixes and quality improvements – it also introduces new functionality for IntelliJ IDEA Community users. Starting from v2024.1.1, AI Assistant is no longer exclusive to Ultimate edition users – it has extended its capabilities to enhance the coding journey for Community Edition enthusiasts as well!

To leverage AI Assistant’s features in both the Community and Ultimate versions, install the plugin and have an active JetBrains AI subscription

Once everything is set up, you can take our in-product onboarding tour to explore AI Assistant’s available features, making your coding experience more enriched and productive than ever.

Additionally, this update includes important fixes that polish the IDE experience. Here are the most notable ones:

  • Code validation no longer produces incorrect code highlighting caused by freezes while reevaluating inspections. [IJPL-28967]
  • Gradle project builds no longer fail during testing when the JaCoCo plugin is used. [IDEA-344011]
  • When you work with Terraform, Find Usages now correctly navigates from the variable definition to usages. [IJPL-65250]
  • The IDE now accurately recognizes type-level request mappings of controller base classes in Spring MVC. [IDEA-248534]
  • Spring GraphQL integration now properly supports extended Query/Mutation types. [IDEA-339942]
  • The IDE successfully resolves plugins for Maven projects utilizing WSL. [IDEA-344115]
  • We fixed several issues appearing when managing Kubernetes contexts. [IJPL-66810], [IJPL-66803], [IJPL-66786], [IJPL-148339], [IJPL-66780]
  • We fixed the issue that caused failures when opening Gradle projects on WSL due to a missing JDK. [IDEA-329792]
