PhpStorm 6 EAP build 124.295

Posted on by Alexey Gopachenko

This holiday’s EAP brings a traditional set of improvements. Some highlights are:

  • PHP type inference for ‘$var->prop’ and ‘$var[‘key’]’ expressions (assignments tracking, instanceof and ‘is_bool’-like functions)
  • Code folding in Twig templates for blocks and control structures
  • Textmate bundle support included
  • More details on PHP and Platform changes available in tracker

We are working on improved type inference, composer support and framework integration, although features will take some time to show up.

As usual, bear in mind that you are getting a snapshot of work in progress and product will undergo series of technical and cosmetic changes.

Download PhpStorm 6.0 EAP build 124.295 for your platform from project EAP page. Patch-update is also available.

This is a last build.. of 2012. We are closed for holidays and wish you a happy apocalypse.
Spent your time with pleasure!

    Lovely new splash screen!

I take it it will return to normal after the end of the world comes and goes? 🙂

Like the new start-up screen. But PLEASE give us the option to keep old style icons – with all due respect, but these new icons are simply horrendous. Don’t pull Microsoft’s screwed up Visual Studio 2012 on us….

I like them. They’re simple and clean. We just need a full set! (Right now they’re half old, half new). But I agree, an option to choose between icon sets would not be a bad idea.

Nice, but please fix exceptions on the choosing encoding.

    Thanks a lot!
When you plan to continue in the new 2013?

I can not update. PHPStorm says “You have latest …”. Of course in updates EAP-channel is set.

    Splash screen is rocks

I don’t know why everyone is complaining about the new icons, I like them.

My wish would be support for dojo 1.8, e.g. AMD including proper package paths.

new icons are terrible, forcing me to back zend studio 🙂

That’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard. I hope you are joking.

Agreed. Though it looks to me like the icons were designed to look great on Darcula, but when using a light theme they get a bit lost. It’s fine for me since I happen to use Darcula – it’s really an excellent theme 🙂

but there are many people that use default light theme.

Will there be textmate keymap support for PHPStorm 6?

I have EAP 124.373 and dont see it.

Also, can someone explain the difference between textmate keymaps and “textmate bundle”? My understanding so far is the bundle gives syntax highlighting.

I also saw somethign about “textmate plugin” – can someone explain what that is too – will it give me textmate keybindings (which is ALL I care about sionce Ive got several other jetbrains editors that DO support it)?

    I would love TM Keymaps!
