YouTrack 2019.1 is released!
Please welcome YouTrack 2019.1!
We continue to improve YouTrack bringing you the first release of 2019. Check out this blog post to learn what’s new in the latest version.
Favorite Agile Boards
You can now mark agile boards as favorites! This can be very useful if you work with multiple boards, for example, a personal and a team board. Your favorite boards are shown at the top of the list.
YouTrack App for Slack (Standalone)
Our custom integration with Slack lets you link your YouTrack Standalone instance to your workspace and get the most out of both applications. Get issue update notifications, link previews, and copy messages to issue drafts.
Community-based Language Support
Currently, YouTrack has official localization support for English, German, French, Russian, Japanese, and Spanish. Before this release, it was possible to upload a custom localization to your YouTrack Standalone installation, but this process was in no way simple and took some effort.
Now, if you want to work with YouTrack in a language that isn’t officially supported by JetBrains, you can contribute translations via Crowdin, the localization service JetBrains is using. You can contact our support or the project admin if you want to add a new language or join existing translations started by other contributors. Please note that languages added by the community will appear in the YouTrack UI only when specific conditions are met. For details, check out the documentation.
Updates and Enhancements
Customizable Fields for Cards on Agile Boards
New options for cards on agile boards allow you to choose which fields are visible and how the values are presented. This lets you show the same collection of data for each card on your board even when you manage issues in multiple projects.
1. Fields are now shown at the bottom of the card.
2. Cards don’t have a fixed size; now it depends on how much content is inside. If some fields don’t fit on the card, they will be shown when the card is in focus.
System-wide Dark Theme
With a new option, you can apply the Dark Theme to every page of YouTrack with the exception of the Issues list. The Dark Theme can still work if the Issue list is enabled as an experimental feature. You can toggle the Dark Theme in the menu that opens when you click on your avatar, or you can turn it on using the general settings of your profile.
Clone Action for Agile Boards
This feature adds an option to the settings panel for an agile board that lets you clone the board. Create a new agile board without having to configure it from scratch, tune the settings further anytime later.
Per-user Setting for Period Format
Using a new setting in your YouTrack profile, you can now choose how to display the values that are stored in period fields. This makes it easier to perform calculations and compare the values at a glance.
Anonymous SMTP Server Connections
YouTrack can now connect to an SMTP server without sending a login and password. This lets you connect to an SMTP server that does not require authentication.
Syntax Highlighting Improvements in Markdown
Improvements to the handling of language-specific syntax highlights in Markdown makes compatibility with similar features in GitHub better and adds support for code blocks without highlighting.
Quick Access to Project Settings
We’ve added a setting that lets you jump directly from an issue to the settings for its project. Users with the Update Project permission can access project settings by clicking the icon next to the project name in the fields panel.
Smart Default for Work Item Type
The work item type in new work items defaults to the value that you assigned to your most recent work item. This change helps users who consistently perform the same type of activity to report their work faster.
Redesigned Issues List
Hooray, we are ready to show you the new issue list as an experimental feature! The experimental version supports tree mode for all levels and smart filters that help refine the current search query. If you use the Dark Theme, you can also enjoy it on the redesigned issue list page.
