Introducing the Personal To-Do List in Space
We have so much to keep up with on a daily basis. We communicate with teammates, read blog posts, perform code reviews, and keep a lot of other important work items and activities in our heads. When it comes to personal productivity and task management, sometimes it’s hard to keep track of everything. It can be overwhelming and, frankly speaking, sometimes the best way to get something done is to wait for a better time to do it. In these cases, the best way to record your ideas, organize your thoughts, and accomplish your tasks is to put them down and add them to your to-do list.
We are happy to introduce the Personal To-Do List in Space, a handy tool for personal short-term planning. You can open a To-Do list in your sidebar from anywhere in Space.
Adding To-Dos
Currently, the Personal To-Do list is integrated with Chats, Blogs, and Issues. You can add an item from these tools in one click and it will become an actionable item in your To-Do list.
Have you received a message from a colleague that you want to reply to later, noticed a blog post that you don’t have time to read now, or remembered an issue to include in your plans for today? The To-Do list is here for you! Of course, you can add any other items directly to the list by typing them in the input.
There are several options for due dates for these items. They can be added for today, tomorrow, or any date in the future. All items are added for Today by default, and you can modify the due date to be later. If the due date for the item is missed, it will be added to your list for Today in the overdue section. To find all your tasks for upcoming dates, open the Later list. And all your previously resolved items can be found in the History list.
Plans for the future
The primary goal of the To-Do list is to provide an easy and time-saving way to plan and keep track of things you need to get done. That’s why we want to keep this feature simple, just like using sticky notes. In the near future, we plan to add a To-Do List to the Space mobile apps for iOS and Android.
We really hope the Personal To-Do List will reduce noise and will help you organize your work. Give it a try and share your experience with us. If you haven’t joined Space EAP yet, request your invite today.
