IntelliJ IDEA 2018.1.1 EAP is here!

Zlata Kalyuzhnaya

Though we released IntelliJ IDEA 2018.1 just a couple of days ago, work has already begun fixing bugs; we have an EAP build ready for the first bug-fix update for v2018.1! Get the IntelliJ IDEA 2018.1.1 EAP build from Confluence, and don’t forget to share your feedback with us.

First of all, the keystrokes aren’t lost during freezing anymore: IDEA-186636. And clicking the Replace all option from the Replace in path dialog doesn’t freeze the IDE: IDEA-188229.

Also, IntelliJ IDEA 2018.1.1 EAP introduces support for annotationProcessorPaths of the maven-compiler-plugin 3.5 for external Maven dependencies.

Aside from this, the Kotlin plugin that is bundled with the IDE has been updated to v1.2.31. Now the Remove redundant backticks inspection that reports all names and quick fix doesn’t fail for non-applicable names. For the complete list of fixes, see the Kotlin v1.2.31 change log.

In addition to all this, the JDK has been updated to 1.8.0_152-release-1136-b23, with the following notable fixes integrated:

  • A frame insets rounding error when drawing into graphics via RepaintManager was compensated: JRE-681.
  • The issue of killing a window server on macOS in case of huge tooltips (above 1Kb) was fixed: JRE-691.

For a full overview, take a look at the list of changes in the IDE and JRE release notes.

Please report any issues to our tracker. Thanks!

Happy Developing!

These new loading screens are so aesthetic. Keep them coming 😀

I’m getting this message “startOffset outside the host file: 5829; FILE” while coding in Lua, inside the IntelliJ IDE. I didn’t have those in the past. Is that something known to you, a program bug or maybe the Lua plugin?

    Thank you!

      Hi Denis,
please check your settings under Preferences | Appearance & Behavior | System Settings | Updates and make sure that the Automatically check for updates option is enabled.

Hello. Will it be possible in the future to select specific lines in a partial git commit? Currently you can only select chunks which is not always logical, i.e. if you want to split the change on adjacent lines into two separate commits.

Similar feature has existed in, for example, GitHub For Windows app for ages.

The link in the confluence page seems to link to a stable build, not EAP
Could you please double check this

Hi Vlad! We publish all stable builds on web site:
For the bug-fix EAPs we use confluence page:

The latest build is IntelliJ IDEA 2018.1.1 EAP (build 181.4445.20), released on Apr 03, 2018

But it points to which gives me a stable release of IntelliJ, not EAP

The latest stable release is v2018.1. Build: 181.4203.550

v2018.1.1 is not released yet. For v2018.1.1 we only have a EAP Build: 181.4445.20
Why do think that is a stable release of IntelliJ IDEA ? this is actually a EAP build.

Ah, I see. The executable inside is called “IntelliJ IDEA” as opposed to “IntelliJ IDEA 2018.1 EAP” from the version before, and the icon does not have EAP written over it as before. Also, about section says “Version 2018.1.1 (IU-181.4445.20)” and does not mention EAP in any way.

I was under impression it is a stable release.

            Thanks 🙂

            Hello, Zlata!

I also suspect it’s a full build, not EAP release, because it’s asking for a license when I run it, which EAP didn’t do before. I tried .exe and .zip versions for Windows.

Hi Stan, this EAP build requires an active subscription as it’s a minor update.
It may be confusing as we also have EAP builds for major updates, and they don’t require an active subscription.
