RubyMine Kusunoki EAP: IDE Look and Feel Improvements

Hello everyone,

Today we’re one step closer to RubyMine 8 release as the next RubyMine Kusunoki EAP build 143.90 is ready to download and try.

We continue our series of blog posts about the major new features of the upcoming RubyMine release:
Bundler Support Improvements
React Support Improvements
New Debugging Option
New UI for Testing
Adjustments for Color Deficiency
Faster Debugger

IDE Look and Feel Improvements

First of all, RubyMine now comes with complete HiDPI support for Windows and Linux, with fractional scaling of both fonts and icons according to your system DPI settings.

For Mac OS users we have improved the default (light) look-and-feel scheme.

The full list of fixed issues can be found in the release notes. Please note that EAP builds are pre-beta software and may cause issues, which we ask you to report to our issue tracker.

Develop with pleasure!

This last build didn’t work so well for me. I had to uninstall it b/c it became unusable too frequently (I got to the point where it wouldn’t even let me type).

I came back today hoping there would be a new Monday build. Hopefully something is in the works, I like your EAP program and am happy to test when it doesn’t interfere w/my work 🙂

We’re awfully sorry for not making EAP builds for two weeks. The reason is that we have been polishing one of the major features of the upcoming release – support of rbenv gemsets – we wanted to make it ready for the Beta. Beta is going to be announced later this week.

Ohh, any issues we can try to reproduce and fix?
