Refactoring Legacy Code Bases, Free Online Event May 8

In cooperation with Microsoft, join JetBrains’ Hadi Hariri for the free online event, Refactoring Legacy Code Bases using Microsoft Visual Studio and ReSharper. The session is intended for architects, designers and professional developers.

Refactoring Legacy Code Bases
Wednesday, May 8, 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM Pacific Time (GMT-08:00)

Not everyone has the possibility of working on Greenfield projects or doing TDD or BDD. Many of us often end up having to work with legacy code bases that have little notion of what SOLID design principles are and unit tests are non-existent. It can be daunting to have to maintain these types of systems. However, with a little bit of effort, we can try and make the best of the situation. We can combine some well-known refactoring techniques, along with code analysis and design concepts to improve the quality of the code.

Registration is required to attend. We hope to see you there!

  1. Frank says:

I can’t seem to register with a validation error (“undefined”) at the “Department Name” field – no matter what I type. Any hints?

  2. rdemmer says:

Hi Frank, that is strange. The “Department Name” is not a required field. Have you tried from scratch or maybe with a different browser? If the problem continues send me an email at robert [dot] demmer [at] jetbrains [dot] com and I will try to get you registered.

  3. Dirk says:

I am interested in that webinar but that amount of information that is required just for registration is simply too much! Why would you need my phone number and all that other stuff? Hopefully, there’ll be a recording published after the event.

  4. Joel says:

Hi, this event will be at 2 am where I live, just wondering if you’ll be posting any of the event materials online to access afterwards? Cheers.

  5. rdemmer says:

Hello Dirk, This event is being organized by Microsoft and that is their registrations form so there is not much we can do except pass along your comment. For the record I personally agree with you. We will let you know if/when a recording is published.

  6. rdemmer says:

Joel, we will let you know if/when a recording is made available. Thank you for taking the time to write.

  7. Sven says:

FYI: there is no validation done on the adress or phone number fields in the registration.

As they say: on the internets, nobody knows you’re a dog.

  8. David Peden says:

Was a recording ever made public?

  9. Robert says:

@David, Yes the recording availability was just announced. You can find it here:
