Code review workflow in Upsource

Like any process, a code review consists of a sequence of steps. Depending on the needs of a particular project, the number and complexity of these steps may vary. Some teams prefer a laid-back ad-hoc approach, while others are very thorough and follow a scrupulous procedure.

Upsource doesn’t impose any strict workflow, leaving your team a large room of choices for your code review policy. Whatever choice you make, we find it essential to allow both the code author and the reviewer to collaborate in real time. We also make full code insight available for the reviewer, so that his or her valuable time isn’t wasted on issues that can be found automatically.

In the following screencast we’d like to show you a basic Upsource code review workflow, from initiating a review to closing it. Check it out!

So, how about code insight for languages other than Java that are supported by the IntelliJ platform (C++, Python, Ruby, …)?

Of course we have plans to add code insight for other languages too. When, and which languages will be first to get it, partially depends on how actively we receive requests in our issue tracker for code insight in particular languages.
